'After gaining an honours degree in art, I subsequently worked in teaching, raising a family and ending my career in 2011 as a primary school head teacher.
In retirement, it was time for a new challenge. And so I became absorbed in the spontaneity that watercolour offers, a medium previously unknown to me.
There is something special and exciting about watching a painting evolve and my willingness to learn and experiment has since enabled me to develop an individual, fluid style. My paintings are full of energy, using mainly vibrantly rich colours to interpret personal memories of my other passion, that of travel.'
