Gallery owner Martin Sloman is displaying his latest range of watercolours during the month of July. With an open evening planned for July 24th 7-9pm here at the gallery.
Dramatic plays of light and a spontaneous reaction to its effects on nature and surroundings are themes that feature in the artworks of Martin Sloman.
Capturing these fleeting moments with his ever present camera and storing them for future use in his working studio gallery at Cromford. The studio is bathed in natural light and is open to anyone Wed – Sun to come in and watch him paint.
Subjects he favours are the landscapes of Derbyshire as well as Devon, Cornwall and particular favourites Ailsa Craig, Arran and Kintyre Scotland.
Not an artist to be content with one subject matter he also often commissioned for portraits and still life. His commercial clients include a firm of solicitors in London and he has works in private collections in America, Germany, Japan as well as the UK.
The gallery has been open since last September and has been going from strength to strength with nearly 60 different artists on the books all of them successful in their own right Martin has created a dynamic and ever changing display of their work.
The open evening will be a chance to meet and catch up with Martin and learn more about this wonderful gallery space.
