‘Derbyshire grit stone edges and the many varied treescapes provide ample opportunity for continued exploration. I just enjoy making things, playing with natural structure and contemplating the outcome.’
This approach has led to several pieces of work which mimic the rich surfaces often found in collagraph blocks.
Pete Gill is a recent winner of The Friends of Buxton Museum and Art Gallery Trophy, with his work, Gritstone VII at the Derbyshire Open Art Competition.
Pete is a well respected local artist and loved by so many of his former students when he was the Learning Director at Derby College.
Pete Gill has exhibited extensively throughout Britain and has produced work to commision. Various paintings and prints are held in private collections.
Meet the artist October 7th when Pete will be in the gallery all day you are welcome to drop in and watch him work. 10 - 5 pm.
