‘Brian Robinson likes to experiment with all media but in recent years his main interest has been the use of watercolour on gesso. In many of his works it is also possible to see relevant collage material that he has ironed on and embedded in during the early stages of his works.
His work is importantly about atmosphere - whether it be capturing the sadness of a rusty old vehicle or object that once served a purpose in life, or the quietness and solitude of a deserted place he comes across when walking in the countryside - these are the things that he wishes to portray through his very evocative work
He is a member of the Peak District Artisans and has sold his work in the UK, Europe and America. His work is regularly exhibited with the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolour in the Mall Galleries London and also, as an associate member, with the Guild of Railway Artists.’
