Andys work is very atmospheric and consists of familiar local scenes like the above Chatsworth House.
Andy describes his work in his artist statement below:
‘It is hard to categorise the medium this series of architectural and landscape images is depicted in, they feature local Derbyshire views and landmarks and are put together from hand drawn elements, textures and photographs in a digital format. Working in this way offers a range of techniques not possible with more traditional methods and the results show these familiar scenes in a truly unique way. In addition, I produce portraits by more traditional drawing and painting techniques, which can be seen on my website at www.andymayers.peakartist.co.uk’ firstname.lastname@example.org '

'Porcelain is the most seductive and beautiful of all the clays. Although the somewhat challenging and labour intensive process, neriage, is rarely used by artists today I am continually attracted to the hidden essence and inimitability of each piece that emerges from the kiln.
This exploration has resulted in the production of a unique and contemporary range of porcelain vessels, wall panels and buttons.
I have also collaborated with jewellery designer Jack Thwaites to produce 'Safari' 'Jazz' and 'Oceanic', a contemporary and exciting collection of bracelets, rings, pendants and cufflinks. This vibrant collection of jewellery incorporates coloured layers of porcelain mounted into sterling silver before being skilfully polished to produce work that is innovative and beautiful.http://www.sue-gorman-ceramics.co.uk/index.htm_ '
